Sage Cohen (b. 1995) is a photographer in so called Portland, OR. At the age of 16, they started their journey with photography. As an assistant and student, they closely studied under Tom Hikaru Lim learning the basics of portraiture, studio lighting, and composition. At the age of 18 they moved to NYC to pursue an internship with Sebastian Smith. While under his study they primarily learned about the cultural background of editorial and fashion photography, and how that related to their own journey as a photographer and artist. Capturing moments that showcase authenticity and the truest essence of the subject is their greatest passion. In their work one of their biggest hopes is to portray an image that invites the viewer to sit with their own perspective. Whether that be on beauty, social conditioning, heartbreak, etc.

Their ongoing projects focus on gender identity, fashion, exploration of emotions, difference in perspective, and societal constructs. The majority of their work is shot with a Canon AE -1, Polaroid, and Canon 7D.
